Medtech companies face some tough times as the deadly coronavirus pandemic gains steam. But could this be the medical device industry’s Dunkirk, too?
Just days ago, MassMEDIC president Brian Johnson made a call-out on LinkedIn for people to send ideas about how Massachusetts medical device companies could help fight COVID-19. He drew an analogy to the “miracle” that enabled hundreds of thousands of British and French troops to escape destruction from Nazi forces in 1940.
“I saw a comparison to Dunkirk and how the British mobilized every fishing boat and civilian boat to save their troops from annihilation, and I think it’s correct. This is our Dunkirk. We can help. We have supplies and, most of all, we have the expertise to get into this fight,” said Johnson, who also co-founded MDO‘s sister site MassDevice and our DeviceTalks events.
