Enovis (NYSE: ENOV) today announced the launch of its procedure-specific DynaClip Delta and DynaClip Quattro bone staples.
The staples are the latest additions to Wilmington, Delaware–based Enovis’ growing foot and ankle portfolio. The portfolio includes the DynaClip family of bone fixation systems.
DynaClip Delta and DynaClip Quattro staples come pre-loaded on disposable inserters. The inserters facilitate quick deployment and accurate leg positioning, according to Enovis.
Additionally, Enovis designed the DynaClip Delta staples to enable faster and easier first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) fusion procedures. The company says the staples accomplish this without compromising on durability and performance.
Both DynaClip Delta and DynaClip Quattro use nitinol materials technology that provides sustained dynamic compression across fusion sites, according to Enovis. Unlike traditional nitinol staples that provide bone compression through the staple legs, DynaClip Delta and DynaClip Quattro staples distribute stress across the staple bridge.
“I am a believer and user of nitinol implants. The DynaClip Quattro nitinol staple is a newly designed four-legged staple advancing the current design of nitinol staples on the market,” said Dr. Tyler Gonzalez, a foot and ankle surgeon in Lexington, South Carolina.
“Using this newly designed four-legged staple has added a new tool to my armamentarium for surgical fixation. It has improved my efficiency and expanded my versatility in midfoot and hindfoot fusions,” Gonzalez said in an Enovis news release.
Gary Justak, president and GM of Enovis Foot & Ankle, said the new staples are the latest example of how the company is disrupting the market and elevating patient treatment options.
Enovis — the parent company of DJO Global — is one of the largest orthopedic device companies in the world. It completed acquisitions in 2022 to strengthen its position in the ortho device industry.
