KitoTech Medical (Seattle) has landed a group purchasing agreement for non-invasive skin closure devices with Premier.
Effective November 1, the new agreement allows Premier members to take advantage of pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier for microMend skin closure products. Premier has more than 4,100 U.S. hospitals and 200,000 other providers in its group purchasing and supply chain network.
MicroMend is KitoTech’s first product. It consists of an array of miniature staples attached to an adhesive backing and is designed to combine the holding strength of a suture with the simplicity of applying a bandage. It may be used to close lacerations, skin tears, surgical incisions and other wounds, according to the company.
“We are excited to have Premier select our microMend wound closure products for placement in its ‘new’ non-invasive skin closure device category,” said KitoTech chief commercial officer Deon Miller in a news release. “We believe that Premier can provide an opportunity to help our new technology serve the members of all the Premier acute and non-acute care facilities throughout the U.S.”
