The annual AdvaMed MedTech Conference has kicked off its second virtual week with livestreamed sessions beginning at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday.
Originally scheduled to take place in Toronto, this year’s conference was moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Future AdvaMed annual conferences will likely be a hybrid of in-person and virtual, group chair and Stryker CEO Kevin Lobo said last week.
The 2020 conference will feature a mix of live and on-demand content available to registrants, with a live online event taking place the week of October 5. More than 100 sessions are scheduled on topics including cybersecurity, EU MDR, trade, inspections, M&A, precision medicine, AI and value-based care. Registrants have access to on-demand sessions via a virtual conference platform with new sessions released every week through October 7.
Wednesday’s first livestream session will feature an interview with Fred Khosravi, a Silicon Valley serial medtech entrepreneur who has co-founded 12 companies. Khosravi is chairman and CEO of neurovascular device company Imperative Care and managing director of Incept, a health sciences and technology accelerator and development company.
This week also sees the debut of the conference’s Innovation Pavilion, featuring early-stage companies from AdvaMed Accel, the 2020 MedTech Innovator cohort, JLABS, the NIH SEED program and MTEC (Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium).
