Exactech announced today that it has signed an agreement to be the exclusive U.S. distributor of Bodycad‘s Reflex Uni knee.
The Reflex Uni expands Exactech’s Truliant primary and revision knee system to include a personalized unicompartmental implant, designed to fit each person’s unique anatomy.
Exactech is touting the Truliant Reflex Uni as the latest addition to its Active Intelligence tech platform of personalized, data-driven offerings meant to improve patient outcomes.
The Truliant Reflex Uni leverages 3D printing technology and uses a proprietary software algorithm and fully integrated production system — optimizing personalized restoration of each patient’s anatomy.
“Innovation in unicompartmental knee implants has been stagnant for years,” said John McDaniel, Exactech’s SVP, Large Joints.
“We intentionally delayed offering a partial knee until we had something that could address the shortcomings of existing designs,” McDaniel said in a news release. “With Truliant Reflex Uni, surgeons have the option to change implant design and placement to meet the needs of each patient. We’re excited about this personalized solution and its potential to maximize bone coverage, achieve proper alignment and optimize joint function.”
