TransEnterix (NYSE:TRXC) this week said it appointed Brett Farabaugh as interim chief financial officer, effective Jan. 2.
Farabaugh replaces Joe Slattery who retired on Dec. 31, 2019.

He brings a wealth of experience providing financial leadership to high growth healthcare and technology companies,” president and CEO Anthony Fernando said in a news release. “I believe Brett’s in-depth knowledge of the medical device industry and his background of successfully guiding innovative companies will be very valuable during this critical period as we focus on taking the actions needed to implement changes in our commercial strategy that I believe will drive shareholder value.”
Prior to joining the company, Farabaugh served as chief financial officer and CEO of Tryton Medical in Durham, N.C. He has also served as chief financial officer of Strikeiron and VP of finance for Icoria.
